Many parts have a solid foundation however, they just need to be recast for the factory fresh finish. Below is steering wheel process.


To start the process, you send in your steering wheel to be refinished. Sometimes we have cores on hand, but those are becoming scarce.	First, old plastic is removed from the rim. Steering wheel is sandblasted down to bare metal and hand sanded to remove rust and pits.

This is the mould we use to recast the steering wheel. Yes, of course we made it! Where else would we get it?	Steering wheel placed into mould.

Urethane is poured into mould (notice excess mixture seeping through drainage holes to ensure removal of bubbles).	After 'recasting', hub and spokes are painted with a durable high gloss urethane for the factory fresh look and feel.
	At Left: Re-cast steering wheel is ready for shipment or installation into Met restoration project. Looks brand new! Consider this process one of KMC's core competencies!
