Internship Program

At Kip Motor Company, interns step into a real-world shop environment where craftsmanship, history, and hands-on learning converge. They build upon the foundation gained through their formal education, applying classroom knowledge directly to professional projects while learning rare, practical skills from experienced Carcheologists. Every task contributes to preserving automotive and mechanical history.

KMC specializes in the service and restoration of fine British and exotic domestic classic cars, including Austin, English Ford, Hillman, Sunbeam, Triumph, Packard, Studebaker, and rarer vehicles such as the Nash Metropolitan, Berkeley, and London Taxi, cars no longer supported by their original manufacturers.

Experience

Interns work on real projects that few shops ever see, gaining hands-on experience across a wide range of vehicles and disciplines.

  • Pre-war and post-war vehicles, British and domestic classics

  • Unique projects including aeroplanes, wooden boats, and specialty builds

  • Exposure to rare and historically significant vehicles, including London Taxis from across the U.S.

Mentorship

Kip Motor team learning from each other.

Learning happens side by side with experienced Carcheologists, where skills are taught through real work and not simulations.

  • One-on-one guidance in a working shop environment

  • Rare, old-world techniques not taught in most classrooms

  • Hands-on problem-solving using real customer vehicles and projects

Past Interns

Past interns leave with more than experience—they leave with stories, skills, and confidence.

  • Participation in ground-up restorations and specialty builds

  • Experience with everything from single- to multi-cylinder engines

  • A fast-paced, engaging environment where no two days are the same
