Customer had started restoration on another Metropolitan that was in poor condition and very rusty. We were asked to locate a solid Metropolitan hardtop to replace the earlier project and to restore it as required for use as a dependable yet occasionally driven vehicle. The vehicle located was straight and solid, had been repainted many years ago and had not been licensed in recent history. The condition of the vehicle upon delivery to our facility was as follows: the engine turned over but had low compression, and the original interior was faded and dirty — the car was complete, but cosmetically and mechanically tired.
